Today marks the final push of the interaction design installation for the Lights on Stratford Festival. Our team has been hard at work getting the final touches down and increasing marketing efforts. As we are wrapping up each team's deliverables, it is nearing time for the PMs and Lead to take charge of the presentation (recording and in-person). This past week everyone has been hard at work on their own assignments from marketing to creating the commercial. We overall have had effective communication throughout and had vibrant discussions surrounding how we can make our project better, aiming to find solutions to feedback we got during our first presentation day.
We had a successful meeting going through everyone’s statuses on tasks, problems occurring and brainstorming sessions on hiccups in the interaction design. The meeting started off by going through the rubric of A3 and noting our need to improve our mark in the “project prototype” section where we only scored 15/20 compared to where we were much stronger in other sections like the presentation (19/20). Overall, we were satisfied by our collective outcome of 86% and aim to fix up the areas of improvement.
Main topics that we discussed but were resolved in the meeting included:
How to deliver the story behind the installation? Answer: QR code below the screen for viewers to read more.
Effectively communicate the user experience and how to engage with the installation: use of icons, arrows and shadows to demonstrate how users can move in front of the sensor
Progress on commercial: our media creation team showcased beautiful visuals and storytelling that inspired the project with a voice over that will be completed by the end of the weekend.
While there were elements that we had to take away from the project due to the scope and timing, I am proud of my teammates' perseverance to learn multiple new platforms and languages to get this done, a big shout out to Jack and Aayet!

As we continue with marketing and finishing the deliverables for the drop box, the PMs will discuss a plan of action in terms of pitching our installation! We hope to have a creative, strategic presentation that demonstrates the core values of our project and its importance to the Stratford community.
